Dreams

I had a dream this morning that I was trying to photograph a magnificent lightning storm in the foothills of the rocky mountains.  In the dream I was struck by lightning and burned badly.  Odd, but I've always wondered what it would be like to survive a lightning strike.  It wasn't pleasant, however I still marvel at the wonder that is lightning.  Probably prompted by our recent and very rare t-storm.  Rolling thunder pounded across the sky invading our home with rumble, scaring the dog and cat.  It was around 4 am, I had just laid down to go to sleep.  I reluctantly got out of bed and grabbed my camera and tripod.   Opened my bedroom window, removed the screen and pointed the camera out the window, pressed and prayed.
These were the results.

This was the first one.  I couldn't believe that my first try I caught it.  The second capture would prove more elusive.  I had Marcy counting between each strike so I could gage how long to wait to pull the trigger.  I missed three or four of them.  I had the camera set at 200 ISO which is used for bright light, but the shutter speed was 13 seconds.  So with my 13 second window I pressed and hoped for magic.  It finally came in the 12th second of almost 20 attempts I nailed another one.
I thought I missed this one after it struck, but when I pulled it up on my monitor I realized I had a pretty good shot for an amateur in his boxers shooting out his bedroom window.

First Group of Wedding Shots (more to come)

The Twin Cities played host to the wedding so here are a few shots around Minneapolis where we stayed.

Thought this water feature in a park area was pretty neat.

Minnesota has some of the craziest skies I have ever seen.  The clouds hustle and bustle around and are ever changing.

I love Church architecture, I could take pictures of churches all day long and there were a few in the city.

The Bride

Me, although I should have retouched my chin or at least the area where a chin should be.
